Kawazuzakura SPOT REPORT

Do you remember the seasonal [SPOT REPORT] series from 2023? It was a treat to see through the eyes of other bloggers the changing seasons in their locales.

On Friday, I dropped by Hokekyoji, Ichikawa City's Kamakura-era temple, in which Nichiren sought refuge from persecution. It's a complex with temples, a cemetery, and a pagoda. Just to the north side of the Sanmon gate is Chisenin, an independent temple within the temple precinct. The temple's kawazu zakura, with its round petals, is in full bloom.
