Factory Tour Stamp Rally

I wish I had learned about this one sooner. Factory Tour Stamp Rally photo

Until June 16th, four factories for big name products are doing a stamp rally. If you visit all four, and submit your stamps, your name gets entered in a draw to win tickets to either Shimizu Park Field Athletics, the biggest in Japan, or Tobu Zoo.

The four factories are Kikkoman Factory Museum, Megu Milk, Fancl Cosmetics, and Glicopia Chiba. They’re all located in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture.

So far, I have got one stamp at Glicopia Chiba. This is a fun free tour of Glico’s ice cream factory that ends with a free sample of Papico ice cream treats.

I’ve been to Kikkoman Factory Museum a few times. The displays are all bilingual in English and Japanese. The cafe serves soy sauce flavored senbei you grill yourself, and soy sauce ice cream, which is delicious.

If you’re in the area and have some time on weekdays (Fancl only offers tours Monday to Friday) this is a great way to see the clean and efficient process by which these products are made.
