The description

Jabara Sour is one of a series of drinks produced in a collaboration between Ko Trip, a travel magazine, and Mitsubishi Foods. The sour is flavored with jabara juice and has 3% alcohol.

The good

J-CRAFT TRIP is a brand of low-alcohol drinks that use regional ingredients to remind you of where you've been or entice you to go. I've been to Wakayama Prefecture but missed out on jabara, the juice in this Jabara Sour. This sour uses Jabara fruit juice from Kitayama Village, Wakayama Prefecture. The juice is squeezed from Jabara a hybrid of yuzu, pomelo, and mandarin. It's got a lovely tart and sweet flavor. The low alcohol level means that you get to savor the fruit for its own sake. No doubt it provokes nostalgia for rural Wakayama for some.

The not so good

J-CRAFT TRIP Jabara Sour is a pleasant, mild, and low-alcohol sparkling drink. I'd get it again when I see it in the shops. I don't have any complaints about it. For the price, the series of fruit flavored vodka-based sparkling drinks are pretty good. They are intended ot remind you of places you've been or spots you'd like to go. This one, jabara sour, is quite sweet as the mandarin orange flavor is quite dominant, moreso than the bitter and sour qualities of yuzu. The next time I visit Wakayama Prefecture I'll look out for this fruit.
