The description
Nippon Ham's line of Entier sausages includes Olive & Basil. The finger-length vacuum-packed sausages come in double packs of four. They are available at Belc supermarkets.
The good
Nippon Ham's line of Entier sausages has four varieties - yuzu pepper, black pepper, wasabi, lemon & parsley, and olive & basil. This time I tried the olive & basil version. The finger-length vacuum-packed sausages come in double packs of four. These are uncured pork sausages. The flavour is piquant and lightly herbal. I prepared them by frying them in a splash of olive oil with sliced naganegi. They're quick to prepare. You know they're done when they're browned and sizzling. They are available at Belc supermarkets.
The not so good
Nippon Ham's line of Entier sausages, olive & basil version, is okay value for money. The double pack containing four sausages each is about 300 yen in supermarkets. The flavour of the uncured sausage is subtle, and I would say I prefer the black pepper version. That version reminds me of classic uncured butcher shop sausages from home. Sometimes I make a nostalgic sausage butty with these. Pan-fry or roast in the toaster oven, slice them in half lengthwise, and slap them between two slices of bread.
