The description
Suntory Beverage's brand line Kodawari Sakeba offers various kinds of ready-to-drink shochu highballs. Misoremon, a limited-time product launched in October 2024, combines lemon flavors.
The good
In anticipation of winter, Suntory Beverage's Kodawari Sakaba line of ready-to-drink shochu highballs came out with Mizoremon, a limited-time winter offering released in October 2024. Sure, it's early, but it's worth a try. Mizoremon is a 5% chuhai made with lemon-infused liquor, and lemon juice, and fortified with juice squeezed from whole lemons, with the peel on, to lend the drink an aromatic finish. The oils in the peel give it a complex flavor. The can has a sophisticated, winter-themed yet bright label. It looks nice on the table.
The not so good
Among the flavors of Kodawari Sakaba, Suntory's line of ready-to-drink shochu highballs, I think this is my favorite. I can't think of anything to complain about, though it startled me in October when it was released early. The drink pours a little cloudy, hence the name "Misoremon" a portmanteau of misore, sleet, and lemon. It's a combo of lemon liqueur combined with both straight lemon juice and whole squeezed lemons. According to Suntory, this is a limited-time offering that, it is hoped, lasts until winter.
