The description

7-11's own brand offers small packages of traditional confectionery. This one, usuyaki senbei norishio comes in a 40-gram bag. It's priced at 100 yen.

The good

7-11's in-house brand has various traditional sweet and savory confectionery. They're reasonably priced and good quality. This one, usuyaki senbei norishio is made from domestically produced rice. The usu part indicates it's a lightly grilled rice cracker. The rice crackers are half the size of typical traditional palm-sized ones you get at specialty shops. The senbei deliver with a very hard texture. They're flavored with generous helpings of three types of nori seaweed. They're a great alternative to potato chips.

The not so good

I'm already a fan of traditional senbei, and these 7-11 branded usuyaki senbei norishio flavor ones didn't disappoint. For the price point, they're great. They're much smaller than the old-fashioned ones you pick out of a jar at a senbei shop, but they have a good senbei crunch. They don't scrimp on the Korean nori seaweed. They rival popular nori seaweed flavored potato chips. At 40 grams the package is small. But then again, they're priced at 100 yen. The upside is senbei tasting of the small quantities.
