The description

A box of six seasonal flavour shirokuma bars, each bar is about 100ml or so and is frozen on a stick. A bar has bits of frozen fruit and red beans, held together by a banana puree and milk frozen ice base.

The good

This product is a bit of an interesting twist on the shirokuma formula. Those who like banana would likely enjoy this treat a lot as it contains banana puree. There is also mango included on the list of ingredients and that flavour is distinct. It still has the regular frozen fruits and beans that a standard shirokuma has as well, so there's a bit of palate cleansing in one bar. Like the regular version, this dessert doesn't crumble off the popsicle stick either, which means less of a mess when eating and less of an embarrassment when outside.

The not so good

A big focus on the flavour in the negative points here. The added banana puree is good for the first few bites but the fruits and beans inside of one bar aren’t enough of a palate cleanser the keep the taste new. I feel there isn't enough of a contrast between the base dessert and the larger frozen bits added to it. With the classic bar, the milky base was mild yet tasty enough to make the frozen fruits stand out but have enough of a flavour to hold its own. With the tropical version, the base and the fruit flavours feel like they're vying for attention.
