The description

A yogurt drink that is commonly found in convenience stores, supermarkets, and apparently vending machines, this drink has a reputation for being a stress reliever and promoting a good environment for gut bacteria.

The good

One of the positives of this product is how widespread it is. I found the one in the picture at a random station vending machine, so it isn’t limited to a store in a particular area and is not hard to find. It also tastes quite good: it has a creamier texture than the regular Yakult drinks and has a bit of a sour tang that isn’t off-putting. It’s also a larger size than the regular Yakult bottles. It seems to be at least twice the size of the ones I usually see sold in packs. The active probiotic in it is also claimed to help sleep and relieve stress.

The not so good

More of a weird point than a negative, its packaging is unusual. The material the bottle is doesn’t really feel like the standard PET bottle, but it seems I can dispose of it as such. There is no cap either, instead having a tinfoil sheet covering the top of the bottle. For me resealing a drink is important, especially if I’m about fifteen seconds away from stepping into a crowded train. This is also a dairy product, so lactose intolerance has a chance of coming up. Lastly, the website notes that this drink is NOT halal-certified.
