The lemon flavouring in this drink comes from real lemon juice, as noted by the 1% juice label. It also has lactic acid bacteria, so it can be said to aid in gut health. The packaging seems to be durable and it has a screw-on cap. The bottles available at vending machines are at a size where they can fit into a reasonable spot in a bag or purse. The moment you open the bottle you are hit with a nice dose of lemon fragrance, so it’s easy on the nose. At first, the drink has a pleasant, lemonade-like flavour.

After a few sips of this drink, however, it starts to lose its appeal and gets into the “this tastes weird” category. The Calpis flavour starts to get more obvious and the lemon starts to get obnoxious. It felt like the two flavours were battling for my taste buds’ attention about halfway through the bottle. Stopping at about halfway through the bottle, I took a break from the drink and took a moment to evaluate how I felt about this drink. It was at this time that I realized the drink should be shaken periodically, as I saw white particulate start to clump together. Keeping the drink shaken did help the flavour a bit, but not enough to make me feel like buying this drink again.
