The description
This is a small chocolate bar, pretty much the same size as a Black Thunder and from the same brand. I have spotted it in a number of places and I suspect the price varies, but I purchased it for 75 yen (including tax) from my local 7-11.
The good
I am honestly not sure if this chocolate bar can be considered yet another variation on a Black Thunder or not. As noted above, is the same size and the same brand, and it lurks around the same part of confectionary shelves. Yet it… isn’t? I am more sure about what it tastes like, however, and that is decidedly milky. It is basically a chocolate-covered biscuit, though the biscuit itself is on the softer, smoother side. That inner biscuit part seems to be where a fair bit of the milk flavour comes from. However, the chocolate itself is milder and lighter than regular milk chocolate. If you’re familiar with drinking Milo, you might feel like I do, which is that this is what you would end up with if you literally turned your milky Milo drink into a chocolate bar.
The not so good
For someone who loves chocolate, including milk chocolate and painfully sweet white chocolate, I am not actually a super big milk fan. This chocolate is okay, yes, but it doesn’t really do it for me personally. The reason I am leaving it at four stars is that, while it’s not entirely what I like, I think it does do what it promises. The name of this product is Milkmania, after all, which means you should be pretty clear in what it is going in. If you are indeed a milk fan and like your chocolate on the milder side, then this product certainly delivers.
