Eating Fresh Yuba at a Restaurant
At a tofu restaurant, we found something interesting on the menu.
"Fresh yuba you can pick up with chopsticks"
That was awfully specific, we thought, but we like yuba, so we ordered one to try.
The staff placed a stove in front of us and a pot of what looked like soymilk. "Please wait for about 10 mins", he said, as he turned the stove on.
After 10 mins, we saw that the surface of the soymilk started to form a sheet. We really were able to just pick a whole sheet of yuba up to eat, and it was delicious! You could dip it into soysauce, but we liked it as it was as well.
We then had to wait for another couple minutes for the next sheet, but it was great food that also entertained!
