Asahi's Beery - What's the Point?

My friend who loves beer always says that there is no point in drinking 0% alcoholic "beers". While I can see that some people who are trying to cut on alcohol can be satisfied with it.

This product by Asahi, however, I do not understand.

Called Beery (which I thought said Berry at first), this is a beer-like beverage with a tiny bit of alcohol.

That is right, a tiny bit. Just 0.5%!

In fact, there is so little alcohol that this is categorized as a carbonated beverage instead of an alcoholic beverage.

It was also 160 yen, not cheap, and it did not taste that good either. It was a very flat and diluted beer. Slightly better than the 0%, but not worth the extra money.
