Tokyo Bananas: Overrated Tokyo Souvenir

I have received this many times in the past from friends who visited Tokyo. I also had a friend who requested this when I went home to visit.

But these Tokyo Bananas, in my opinion, are super overrated.

With the sponge cake wrapping this banana goo, the sponge cake gets moist. The banana mixture tastes more like custard than bananas.

Sure, they are cute, but taste-wise they are really not that good (and I do not see anything TOKYO about them).

I would eat them but they would never be my first choice.
