Banana with Edible Peel

In Gifu, there is apparently a new "species" of bananas. The gimmick of this banana named "Seisui banana" is that the peel is super thin, so thin that it is edible.

I received one from a friend, and it looks like the bananas are not yet purchasing in stores yet. They are at the stage of putting the name out there first.

I tried it and sure enough, the peel is edible!... but, it is not good. The texture is strange. It does feel like eating a banana peel. It is a bit tough and slimy, and the peel itself is not sweet.

Again, it is edible, so they were not lying, but I did not really see the point. In conclusion, my mind was blown until I ate it.
