Frozen Chinese Dimsum' Chimaki
If you are a fan of dimsum, you might know that one of the more filling things you could order is a chimaki.
There are different versions to the Japanese word chimaki, but the dumsum variation, such as the one I found in a frozen form is typically a layer of soy sauce flavoured sticky rice (mochi kome) wrapping some ingredients such as chicken and shiitake mushroom.
It is then wrapped with bamboo leaves or lotus leaves before getting steamed.
I was really happy to find this bag of 10 small chimakis for only 500 yen. You could either microwave them or steam them at home. They are not the best, especially since they are a bit strong on the soy sauce side, but considering how difficult/expensive it is to haev dumsum in Japan, this frozen version is a great option to have.
