What is a Tsukune?

If you ever see the word Tsukune at an izakaya, either at a grilled skewer, an oden item or anything else, they are basically minced chicken meat mixed with other things.

When I say other things, they are often ways to season the minced chicken. You will find things like black pepper, ooba leaves and other things.

The result is that the chicken is way more flavourful than if they were not mixed. The texture is also much more like a meatball, and some people just like that a lot more than chicken pieces.

So basically, if you are into chicken and/or meatballs, tsukunes are worth you trying!
