Hostile Architecture in Japan

If you do not know what hostile architectures are, wiki explains it as "an urban-design strategy that uses elements of the built environment to purposefully guide or restrict behaviour in order to prevent crime and maintain order."

They are everywhere in the world, even in a safe society like Japan, especially in the big cities.

One of the best examples is the benches. The divider in the middle is not an armrest. No one really uses it as an armrest.

What it really is is a bar in between so that homeless people cannot sleep on it, thus chasing homeless people away as they find for another bench to sleep on.

It is really sad that things like this exist and have a need to exist. Now that I have pointed it out, I am sure you will start to notice a lot more of these hostile architectures.

Have you seen others? Please let me know.
