I Love Coffee Jelly

When I think jelly, I usually think of something with a fruity flavour (and most likely grape, for some reason), but Japan has this thing called Coffee Jelly and I absolutely love it.

Coffee jelly is, well, jelly made with coffee and has the same consistency as all great chewy jelly. However, they are also covered in this rich thick cream that balances perfectly with the bitter jelly.

They are a great dessert and I really like having them in the middle of the day to give me the caffeine boost. For just 100 to 150 yen each, you can get them at most supermarkets and convenience stores.
