Indian Tempura? Vegetable Pakora
At the Indian curry shop I frequent, I was feeling like trying something different, so I opened their grand menu and I found their vegetable pakora.
Not too familiar with Indian food, I was not sure what it was, but the description read:
"Indian-style tempura using vegetables"
For 600 yen, the amount was decent. There were mainly three kinds of pakora in the pack: bundles of different vegetables just like kakiage, thin potato slices/chips, and green peppers.
Compared with tempura, pakora have a thicker batter. More importantly, they were super flavourful as spices and herbs were mixed into the batter. They were absolutely delicious even without the ketchup it came with.
As a fan of tempura, I can now call myself a fan of pakora as well!
