Region-limited Hida Apple Cider
As a fan of cider, I find it annoying in Japan that cider is both a word that is often used for non-alcoholic soft drink (ex. Mitsuya cider) and it is a drink that is not common enough here. So when I found this regional-limited Hida craft apple cider, I got to give it a try.
It is interesting how this cider is considered a chu-hi. The Hida label comes from the drink being made using apples from the Hida area in Gifu, making this limited to mostly that area.
The drink itself is great. The apple flavour is there, and it goes well with the alcoholic flavour. The carbonation could have been stronger, but it was also really easy to drink.
I would say that this is worth a try for everyone for about 250 yen, but you might have a hard time finding it at your local supermarket.
