What is Imo Mochi...?

At a supermarket, I bought this interesting looking thing on a stick called "imo mochi".

After heating it up in the toaster oven, the butter sauce smelled really really good.

When I bit into it, I expected it to be like mochi outside with mash potato inside, but instead, this was like a soft savory cake.

The mochi is absolutely delicious, and I guess potato was blended into it? The texture is unlike anything i have had, and I liked it a lot.

I guess this is more of an izakaya food than a supermarket thing. Going to make sure to order it from now on!
