Canned Saba - Chinese vs. Japanese

I really like canned saba. They are delicious and cheap, and they make a great additional to a meal.

However, on the market you can easily find different prices on canned saba.

Those made in Japan are usually 130 to 200 yen a can, while a can like this made in China was only 90 yen.

I was wondering about the differences. The Chinese canned saba honestly tasted amazing. The fish was soft and fat. The flavour was salty. I enjoyed it a lot.

But the salt was definitely much more unhealthy and the Japanese cans are more natural tasting. The can also seems muddier in this can, and it makes me wonder what was added to hide certain things...

While it was delicious and cheap, I think I will pay just a bit more and stick with the more natural tasting Japanese saba.
