My Very First Wheel of Cheese

I would have never thought that one day I would purchase a wheel of cheese, let alone doing that in Japan.

But when I saw this wheel of smoked cheese at the supermarket, I just had to, especially when it is usually sold elsewhere for 3000 yen, and this was only 1111 yen on that day, which is also the only time I have seen it sold there.

Why was it so cheap? It was getting close to its expiry date, but I was planning to freeze a good half of it anyway.

This Germany import is pretty good too. Very creamy with a nice hint of smokiness. For 3000 yen, I would pass on it, but for 1111 yen for 1kg, it is a steal!
