Japan's Obsession with Local Delicious Water

If you are into travel around Japan to enjoy its nature, one thing to keep your eyes out for is the local famous water.

You probably know by now, but drinking water straight from the tap is "usually" not an issue. If you are in a region famous for their clear natural water, you can even find water spots around the town or hiking trails to taste it. Watch out for the kanji 名水 in the area.

I usually would dump out the water I brought and fill my water bottles up. A good natural water often tastes more sweet, and more importantly, it makes me really feel that I am in the nature and absorbing a part of it, literally!
