The description

I found this in a 7-11 in Miyagi prefecture in late March 2024. The label boasts a tropical pink grapefruit flavor and was on sale for the same price as regular Red Bull which is 213 yen for one small can.

The good

It comes at the same price as most Red Bull products and has an exciting pink can making it very clear that it is a spring edition even if you couldn't read the label which clearly states spring edition. The tropical pink grapefruit flavor isn't something I would necessarily be drawn to as I tend to not like the taste of grapefruit. But I do tend to like pink grapefruit which is why I picked it up anyway and I am so happy that I did. The flavor was actually excellent. It tastes a bit like a fruit punch flavored bubble gum and that is perfectly fine. The strong aftertaste that Red Bull usually has is completely absent. The fruit flavor covers it entirely. I would absolutely buy the drink again. It was delicious and easy to drink.

The not so good

The price of this small of a can of an energy drink is a little bit high, but that's the same for all Red Bull products. I am sometimes put off by the different editions that bill puts out because they all look kind of similar just with a different colored can. And I'm absolutely sure that I've had other spring editions of Red Bull in the past, which would make me less likely to pick this one up even though this one was much more delicious than any of the ones that I've encountered in the past. If I hadn't read the label, I wouldn't have bothered to pick it up. Thinking that it was just another rehash of the vaguely Sakura flavored ones from a few years ago that still had the strong Red Bull aftertaste that I did not enjoy. I don't know how but if they could change the label a little bit more to make it very clear that this is a new flavor and not a rehashing of an old flavor. I think it would benefit this product by getting frequent consumers like me to give it another chance.
