Celebrating the wedding anniversary in Koenji

This year my husband and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. I chose a cafe in Koenji, Tokyo, for our anniversary meal. It is called All C's Café and it is one of my favourite cafes in Tokyo. The cafe has an Alice in Wonderland feeling to it and they also offer an Alice in Wonderland-themed course menu. We chose this menu for our anniversary.

The menu was 2,500 yen per person. You can add all-you-can-drink for 1,500 yen per person, too. For 500 yen per person, you can add an order-made character cake.

If you would like to try out the course at All C's Café you need make a reservation in advance, and pay in advance as well. The menu contains five dishes. The first one was a salad with cut out bread that was shaped like playing card symbols. It was a nice starter.

The next dish was a baked pie wrap filled with vegetables, cheese, noodles and potatoes. It was yummy and pretty filling.

The next dish from All C's Café was fried potatoes with some kind of sour cream. The potatoes were covered with a sort of sweet and spicy dressing that I didn't like too much.

After that, we were served a cheese pizza that was designed to look like a clock.  At that point, I was pretty full already because most dishes were pretty carb-heavy.

The final dish was "omurice" made to look like the Cheshire cat. It was really cute but I was a little disappointed because the photo on the homepage of the cafe had a different design that I liked better.

Both of us were really full at this point but we still had a dessert waiting for us. I had chosen a Pikachu for the character cake. It was made of different coloured chocolate. The cake was a small strawberry shortcake with lots of cream. We only finished half of it.

All in all the course was pretty cute and most dishes tasted good but it was just too much for two people.

If you would like to try it out I would recommend going with four people unless you are really hungry. The order-made cake is a nice addition if you have a special occasion to celebrate and also pretty reasonable for 500 yen per person. I can recommend it for everyone that likes Alice in Wonderland and enjoys the atmosphere of a relaxed cafe.
