Check out Grill Omiya
If you have lived around Misawa Air Base, you probably have heard of a place known as Pizza Curry. The restaurant itself is actually called Grill Omiya and is located off of white pole road, approximately 2 kilometers from the main gate. This mom and pop restaurant is my favorite place to eat in Misawa, they offer a wide range of Japanese curries, and other dishes to include cheese rolls, and pizza. The owner/operators are very friendly and they definitely can satisfy your needs for a great bowl of curry. In my honest opinion they blow CoCo Ichiban (famous curry chain in Japan) out of the water. I would say one of the best dishes to order would be the B set which includes homemade pizza toast, a bowl of curry with a choice of meat over the top. The curries, here can also be customized from a very mild flavor to flaming hot if that is your thing. I stay kind of mild as I like to enjoy the flavors. One of my favorites is the Pork Katsu (fried pork chop) curry in the medium spice. This hearty dish is sure to satisfy your pallet and stop the growlings of any tummy, it definitely has never left me disappointed. So if you are in or around Misawa, I highly recommend checking this place out.
