Nowadays, many people, especially young people, use a so-called selfie stick to take pictures of themselves in front of famous sightseeing spots. Unfortunately, these selfie sticks are becoming more of a problem in many places where many people are coming together. By carelessness, many are just in the way or meet other people with the sticks. That´s why a lot of sightseeing spots prohibited to use these sticks these days.
On my last trip to south of Japan, I´ve found a good alternative for thoese selfie sticks. At some popular viewpoints/sightseeings spots you could find a camera stand for putting your camera and use the self-timer for the perfect photo. Especially if you are in a big group this is perfect.
You can even put your mobile phone and move the camera stand around to find the perfect photo view point for you.
I realized it´s not even perfect for groupphotos but also for sunset or photos in the dark, because the camera stand is very stable.
Maybe sooner or later you can find those camera stands everywhere!
I´m a german girl living in the center of Tokyo, but my true love belongs to the countryside of Japan (especially Chiba and Hokkaido). I love traveling Japan and explore hidden areas.
I want to help people with my articles to get in touch with the Japanese culture and all the beautiful places you can explore.
Besides traveling around, I love trains, handcraft and my little rabbits.
