Katsuragi Hotel Kitanomaru - Enjoy beautiful Japanese architecture

On my last trip to the Shizuoka prefecture, I and my family made a stop at the Katsuragi Hotel Kitanomaru in the mountains of Fukuroi. The hotel is part of a large golf course in the mountains.

When we arrived at the hotel I was really impressed. We were greeted by a huge old entrance gate. After having crossed it, you are standing on a spacious forecourt in front of the main building.

The hotel itself includes 7 different old country houses which have been restored and is owned by the famous Yamaha Group, who want to give the hotel a sense of old-fashioned Japan. Visitors who stay at the hotel shall feel like beeing a landlord.

When entering the house, you will be greeted by many staff who will take care of all the quests. We just wanted to have a coffee in the lounge. From there we had a beautiful view of the Japanese garden, which you can see throw very large windows. We were served by a young lady in a beautiful green kimono, who gave us the feeling of beeing very special guests. 

The hotel has several party rooms and guest rooms and a small pool. Everything is in an old Japanese style. Each room is beautifully clad in wood, giving you the feeling of being back in time.

After we finished our coffee, we went for a walk in the garden, which is a great eye-catcher, especially in autumn.
