Experience a kids indoor center

During the rainy season in Japan, it can sometimes be very difficult to entertain a small kid. Either it is too hot and humid outside to the spend a long time at a playground, or it is raining, which is also not that great for playing outside so often. That's why it is nice to have some alternatives for a hot and rainy summer day.

The first time when I heard about indoor play centers in Japan I was a little worried that they would be very crowded, expensive or kind of dirty, since many people are using them. But I was very surprised when I found the kids indoor center CULAFUL just a few meters away from Daimon or Hamamatsu stations in Tokyo.

The place is very new and has a really beautiful design. In particular, the view from the indoor playground through the panorama windows to the river and Hamarikyu Gardens is really great. To enter the indoor center, you have to make an advance reservation. Bookings are possible for 60 or 90 minutes. The price depends on the day (weekday/weekend) and always includes one drink in their café. There is also a storage area for a stroller and lockers for your luggage, since no bags are allowed inside the indoor area.

The indoor playground has 4 areas where the kids can play, jump and run, read and have a break. The mountain area has a huge playing field with a slider, climbing wall, different tunnels and smaller toys. Also, there is a digital wall in the background, which shows different sceneries.

The forest area has a tree and nets for kids who like to climb. Also, there is a colorful wall with many magnetic toys to challenge the creativity of the kids.

The sea area is a huge pool full of small plastic balls which invites you to take a bath in it or just throw all the balls around.

The farm area has a sitting space, where kids can read different books, build with blocks or just enjoy a drink or some snacks at the café.

There is really a lot to explore for kids. I recommend the 90 minutes course, so your kid can enjoy most of the area to its fullest and then have a 30-minute break at the café, where you will get a free drink.

Also, as a parent I had a lot of fun there, especially in the sea area, where I was laying between tons of balls and enjoyed the nice view. The place is really recommended if you are looking for variety for your kid.
