A day for orange and oranges!

A branch of Japan Agriculture in Ehime Prefecture created an anniversary on April 14th annually known as Orange Day オレンジデー in Japan. Even though it is quite random, it is one of the principal anniversaries of April 14th.

They positioned it a month after White Day and two months after Valentines Day in the hope of creating a day where people would either gift their loved ones oranges - as in the fruit - or orange colored gifts. I may be wrong, but I don't think it has really caught on!

However, the fruit carries assocations with prosperity, joy and the promise of a bright future. So, if you want to make someone's day today, how about giving them an orange!?
