The description
This product is a seasonal delicious soft-serve with whole blueberries, Hokkaido milk based soft-serve ice cream and rich blueberry syrup, from Ministop.
The good
For a little bit of indulgence, the parfait range at Ministop is worth the extra yen in my opinion. Generally, Ministop's ice cream range is really good, one of the better ones in my humble opinion. Every now and then we treat ourselves to one of their premium offerings, such as this Blueberry Yogurt Parfait. We had it in store, so it came in a (glass mimicking) plastic parfait cup. The bottom is whole blueberries with yogurt, that is layered with ice-cream above and then at the top a curl of ice-cream with blueberries and a delicious blueberry syrup. It was really delicious.
The not so good
It's not cheap, its 550 yen before tax. But as I said above, I personally think its worth the splurge every now and then. I found on balance it was worth the money, but I do wish it was a slightly larger size. It is also worth noting that the price has almost doubled in the last five years, but that is not unique to this parfait. It is a widespread inflation problem in Japan in recent years. The other downside is that it can only be bought in Ministop convenience stores and unfortunately in my area of Japan, Ministop branches are few and far between in recent years.
