A Sky Day Celebration at Odate-Noshiro Airport

In my previous two posts I introduced Sky Day / Week festivals in the Kanto plain, but there are also some coming up in other regions of Japan. Including at the Odate-Noshiro Airport in Akita Prefecture. There Sky Festa 2026 is set to take place on 27th September, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It offers visitors a chance to enjoy aviation-themed activities alongside local entertainment.

The airport terminal will host family-friendly attractions including an ANA children's uniform experience, a Sky Day quiz rally, a lobby concert, and displays introducing airport vehicles and operations. Visitors can also explore a police corner featuring children's uniform experiences and police vehicle exhibits.

Outside, the festival atmosphere continues with a local market, food stalls, and appearances by regional mascots from nearby cities. These community activities give the event a distinctly local flavor while celebrating aviation and the role of the airport in northern Akita.

Although advance-registration experiences such as the airport back-yard tour and ANA Kid's Marshaller program are already full, there will still be plenty for visitors to enjoy throughout the day.
