The description
A packet with 84 Shimajiro themed, non scented, insect repellent stickers suitable for sticking on children's clothing, shoes, hats - so long as they don't directly touch the skin.
The good
My youngest daughter is going on an overnight school trip where she will climb a mountain. I wanted her to bring insect repellent. Initially I bought an insect repellent spray for her, but it turns out they aren't allowed bring the spray type. Therefore, I went to buy her the sticker type, as in this post. However, there was no choice in the store. They literally only had these Shimajiro character insect repellent stickers. She's a bit old for the Shimajiro character, but it was these or nothing, so I bought them and she will bring them on their trip.
The not so good
They say that they are non scented on the package. How do they work without a smell!? Normally, in my experience anyway, insect repellent products smell quite strong because their power is in the various herbs they use to repel insects. At least, I thought that's how they work. So I am not very optimistic that this product will do what it is supposed to. Eighty four stickers is sufficient, but it won't be eighty four days worth. When my kids were smaller and I used these more often, they would have to wear at least three to see any sort of effect. With four kids wearing three to five of these stickers per outing, it wasn't long before we ran out!
