Police out in force for the Autumn Nationwide Traffic Safety Campaign

Have you been seeing an increase of police officers out and about in the last week? If you have, that is because it is currently the biannual Traffic Safety Campaign period. It is on from September 21st to 30th annually. 

The goals are broad but practical: encouraging citizens to follow traffic rules, promoting courteous driving and walking habits, and inspiring communities to take part in improving their own road environments. This year, with the new bicycle laws, there is an emphasis on promoting compliance with traffic rules for cyclists and certain types of small, motorized bicycles.

I have seen police driving around daily as well as several police traffic stop / enforcement operations and speed traps in the last week. How about you?
