It's not bad - not a great opening sentence, but it's the overwhelming impression I was left with. I am glad I tried it, but I wouldn't be rushing to buy it again. Although in saying that, as I was eating it yesterday, I felt like I might have had it before! It wouldn't surprise me if I had and just didn't remember as it is not a very memorable product. I did like the crunch of the outer layer of pie, and the filling was actually quite nice too, but I just don't think they go that well together.

It's sort of a confusing product: a hot pie with a filling of a dessert that is usually served cold - strawberry shortcake. I imagine that many people quite like it, but I prefer my pies and shortcake served separately, not wrapped into one. Also, it was a little bit sickly sweet. The price isn't bad I suppose at 220 yen. If it tasted nicer, I would even say it was cheap considering you're basically getting two desserts. If you like something different and a mixture of textures, it probably is worth buying, but if you prefer more traditional desserts, it might be one to avoid.
