These karuta cards are about famous locations in Saitama Prefecture or about famous people or things from Saitama Prefecture. The designs on each card were also made by residents of Saitama Prefecture. On the back of each picture card the name of the person along with a caption they created is written on the card. The cards with text explain more about each location or person mentioned on the cards. They make a really interesting and fun game of karuta for people living in and / or from Saitama Prefecture. They also help children learn about famous people and places in the prefecture.

The biggest problem with these karuata cards that are about Saitama Prefecture, designed by Saitama residents, is that they are really hard to come by. They only sell them in select "lifelong learning departments" at municipal facilities, mostly city halls. My local city hall actually didn't have them. They weren't out of stock - they just chose not to sell them. But thankfully they were aware that Higashimatsuyama City Hall's Lifelong learning department sell them and I was able to drive there and pick them up.
