Ringer Hut's Celebration of Vegetable Day

Today, and August 31st annually, is Vegetable Day 野菜の日 (Yasai no Hi) in Japan.  The date of the anniversary comes from a reading of August 31st, 8/31: "Ya (8) sa (3) i (1)", the Japanese for vegetable. It is a day that encourages people to enjoy more vegetables and appreciate their role in everyday meals.

What I find interesting is that many organizations mark this anniversary. Ringer Hut is particularly known for it. And not just on one day, but usually a few days around the period of the commemoration. This year it was on from August 27th to 31st with a campaign that highlighted healthy eating. For example, they had a 30-second "Veg check" to match customers to the perfect bowl based on how much vegetables they typically eat.

What I also liked about this campaign is that they put the spotlight on the farmers behind their produce, sharing voices from the fields and reminding customers that each bowl carries the care and dedication of growers across Japan.
