The description
This product is Morinaga’s Angel Pie (エンゼルパイ), a snack that combines a soft marshmallow center with a chocolate coating. This version is strawberry flavor.
The good
The strawberry flavor of Morinaga's Angel Pie is a seasonal, limited time offer that is only available around this time of year, when strawberries are in season. It's always nice to pick up a seasonal offering. There are eight packets in this size of the Angel Pie, which is good for sharing or for a family like mine with four kids - two each if Mom and Dad don't join in on the snack sharing! Each one is a decent size with about five or six bites. As such, it is a good snack to keep off hunger. However, I personally am not that fond of it.
The not so good
I am not a fan of the regular Morinaga Angel Pie either, so I wasn't too surprised I don't particularly like the strawberry flavor either. My issue with it is there is not enough of the marshmallow part in the center. Leaves my mouth feeling likes its missing out. Ironically, one of my daughters has the opposite problem - she said she would prefer if there was no marshmallow at all. It's not cheap either at 358 yen for the packet, so one pie works out at almost 90 yen. I think it's too expensive for what you get. Apparently, it is a popular snack though, so I am in the minority in my opinion. I won't be rushing to buy this snack again.
