Celebrating Marine Day

Did you celebrate Marine Day today? One of my daughters went to the sea today, with her friends, to mark the occasion. The Prefecture we live in, Saitama Prefecture, is landlocked, so a trip to the sea is quite a journey. She left at 6 am this morning and got back at 9 pm.

They went to Yuigahama Beach as well as Enoshima (among other places) to greet the ocean on Marine Day. I still remember my visit to Yuigahama, thanks to City-cost, several years ago. It's a great spot to visit for some sun, sand and surf. However, I felt it was far too hot today to bring my younger children to the beach, so we to a mall instead and had some special treats to mark the day!
