We had planned to go out for Christmas dinner, but unfortunately two of my children had influenza and the rest of us didn't want to go out without them. So we found ourselves chicken-less on Christmas Day! In japan they eat chicken not turkey for Christmas, but in my home country it is turkey. But we have become accustomed to eating chicken instead. However, it is normally really hard to get chicken on Christmas day itself, especially in the late afternoon, which is when my husband found this chicken in our local supermarket. i was so happy, I can't tell you. And he was able to get two boxes for our family of six. Moreover, they were reasonably priced at just 1290 yen per box.

I would really prefer to eat turkey for Christmas, but such is life. However, you will find a post on the blog side of City-cost by "Hello Alissa" about the turkey legs she saw on sale in a supermarket in her area. Under normal circumstances two boxes of this Christmas chicken by Beisia, wouldn't be large enough for my family of six. But my son, who has the largest appetite in our home, was one of the two with the full so he didn't have much of an appetite on Christmas day, so two boxes did us. But in truth, normally we would need three of a box of chicken this size! And in such an instant, this would end up quite expensive for us. But I was just grateful to find chicken on such short notice on Christmas day and it tasted really good.
