The description

A pack of five individually wrapped, treat size, soft, sweet and moist, marble cake with a layer of chocolate. This is an import product, from Spain.

The good

I saw these imported marble cakes from Spain in Beisia the other day and decided to give them a go. What drew me to them (other than the bright packaging) is that there are five in a pack and they are each individually wrapped. What I like about them having tried them is their size. They are half the size of a typical cake slice and thus are suitable as a snack before a meal. I loved the layer of chocolate on them. It wasn't overbearing and added rather than took from the flavor of the marble cake.

The not so good

I have become accustomed to the Japanese level of sweetness, which is considerably less than in Europe, and these imports from Spain definitely have more of a "European sweetness" to them! The marble cake leaves a bit of an after taste, but not as much as the chocolate slices in this range, which I also tried and will be writing a review about too. I did enjoy them, as did the kids, but I won't be rushing to buy them again. They are not overly expensive, but they are not cheap either. For an import, especially with the current exchange rate, 322 yen isn't too bad.
