The description
This a review of a drink product, a 240 milliliter plastic cup, with lid and straw, of the "creamy" version of the Mt Rainier range of caffe latte by Morinaga.
The good
Morinaga's Mt Rainier caffe lattes are widely available throughout Japan in my experience. It would seem they are a popular product. Personally, I am not a fan! I only bought this creamy latte this morning out of desperation, as the drinks I really wanted to buy weren't available (or were sold out) in the Seki I stopped in on the way home from a drive. I hadn't had my morning coffee so I was craving caffeine and I thought since it was such a long time since I'd had a Mt Rainier Caffe that perhaps my taste buds had changed.
The not so good
My taste buds have not changed and I personally did not like this product. I didn't hate it or even dislike it, but I did not like it. It was too creamy for one. It tasted like milk with a tiny bit of coffee in it. Plus Mt Rainier's coffee products are too bitter for me overall. They advertise them as moderately bitter, but, maybe its just me, but they are more than moderately bitter! They also aren't cheap, but in fairness they are not expensive either at 139 yen for 240 milliliters. And actually it was cheaper in Seki than it is online. Not that I would ever buy a drink online! I just happened to notice that on Amazon they charge 222 yen per 240 milliliters and that's when you buy in bulk. If you do like this product you are far better off buying it in somewhere like Seki or Welcia than online.
