Rather than buying one large Japanese type Christmas cake, which is a strawberry shortcake type cake, we opted to get a few different types of cakes this year. Including this one from Fujiya which was half the price of a regular Christmas cake. Rather than one solid cake of one flavor, this cake is a mix of three different flavors in six slices - two slices of each of the three flavors. The flavours are chocolate, strawberry and lemon. I had the chocolate one and it was very good. I have had the other two flavors in the past and they are also very good.

I find this cake better value than Fujiya's other cakes, but it still isn't cheap at 3300. Especially as each slice is quite small. But they do taste very good. This one doesn't require an advance booking at our local Fujiya, but most Christmas cakes do at Fujiya. In such an instance it becomes first come, first served. We were very lucky that there was one in stock on Christmas day. But there is a high chance you might be out of luck and there is none in stock if you go to the shop late on Christmas day.
