The description
A nostalgic chocolate‑covered ice bar with a thick, crunchy chocolate shell and smooth vanilla ice cream inside. Rich, satisfying, and perfect for anyone who loves classic chocolate ice treats.
The good
First and foremost, I love the textures. An outer crisp texture with a smooth ice-cream inside and - the best part - thick, crunchy chocolate inside the ice-cream. Moreover, even though I didn't grow up in Japan it has a nostalgic feel to it. Probably because it reminds me of ice-creams back home, such as the Choc-ice. The bar is surprisingly filling for its size, and the 5‑pack makes it easy to share or keep on hand for quick treats. And although at first 300 yen doesn't sound particularly cheap, because there are five bars it works out an affordable option.
The not so good
For me personally, I could do without the nut pieces on the outer layer. But for some people they make actually make this product even more appealing! It's a silly thing, but Cheerio is the name of a cereal in my home country, so I don't particularly like the name of this product! Cheerio also does little to reflect what the product is. The ice-cream is a bit heavy so if you are in the mood for something light, it might be one to avoid. Also, if you prefer more ice-cream than chocolate, it might not be the best option for you either.
