The magical, color changing cherry blossom

I had planned to post this earlier in the week, when the color changing cherry blossoms were in bloom, but there was a temporary issue with photos on the site. This is one post that was pointless to publish without photos! Because I want to showcase this magical cherry blossom as they go through their color changing in photos. I took the photos in this post on Tuesday April 14th, 2026.

Known as "green cherry blossom" in English, the sakura starts out a light pale green color:

From green it turns to white (or yellow depending on the variety):

And eventually the pink center and pink streaks take over, and the cherry blossom turns pink:

However, once they are fully pink it marks their end and they fall thereafter. 

It is such a magical cherry blossom and one of my personal favorites. Have you seen any "green cherry blossoms" on your cherry blossom adventures?
