The description
A seasonal donut at Mister Donut, in collaboration with Pokemon. This Foongus donut is a two in one: a moist cake on the bottom and a chocolate covered donut on top.
The good
Mister Donut (Misdo) have a nice selection of seasonal donuts each year at Christmas. In recent years they are always Pokemon themed. And even though they have had seasonal Pokemon donuts for years, they still manage to come up with unique donuts each year just for Christmas. This year is no exception. The Foongus Donut, or Tamagetake in Japanese, is modeled on the Pokemon character "Foongus" which is a mushroom like character. At first glance, I thought that it was a Pokeball like they had last year! Then I realized that under the Pokeball like donut there is the body and face of Foongus! I particularly liked the Pokeball like donut which is covered in white chocolate on one side and strawberry chocolate on the other.
The not so good
Much to my surprise, at 7.30 pm at night, just half an hour before my nearest branch of Mister Donut closes, there was still a tray of the Foongus donuts left. It means one of two things. Either people don't like / aren't enjoying this donut as much as they thought they would OR it is too expensive for the average customer to buy. I don't know the answer. But for me, although I liked this donut, I will not be buying it again as it is twice the price of a regular donut at Misdo and there regular donuts are nice enough that I can't justify paying extra for Foongus more than once. Also, there are other Pokemon donuts in the range that are a more affordable price.
