Honoring the many forms of partnership
Today, and April 14th annually, is Partner Day パートナーデー in Japan. An anniversary created by the city of Saga to honor the many forms of partnership that sustain daily life. According to the city, the anniversary also aims for the broader goal of encouraging a fair and equal society.
The date follows naturally from the seasonal rhythm of Valentine's Day (2/14) and White Day (3/14) creating a third moment, a month later, to express gratitude not only to romantic partners, but also to family members, business partners, friends, colleagues and everyone who quietly supports us.
Partner Day encourages small gestures of appreciation for the partners in your life. It is reminder that partners come in many forms. And it is a timely anniversary as the new fiscal, business and school years begin.
