Crazy Event; All-You-Can-Pack Frozen Food for just 1500 yen

Every month, a small discount outlet in Saitama, "39 Outlet" (Iruma branch), hosts a surprisingly exciting event: fit as much frozen food as you can into one big bag, provided by the store, and take all the products home, at an absolute bargain price.  Just 1500 yen for everything in the bag. I caught a TV segment about it recently, and I actually can't get over the price.

Rows of large freezers are lined up with items from familiar brands; omelets, dumplings, fried rice, noodles, roll cake and more. The crab is particularly popular and to buy it individually actually costs more (1600+yen) than the price of the All-You-Can-Pack event. The rules are simple: take one of the store’s large bags and pack it with whatever frozen items you like. If it fits and you can carry the bag without it ripping or dropping, it goes home with you. 

The presenter actually participated to see how much she could fit into the bag. She also interviewed a regular participant. They both fit an incredible volume of products into just one bag, around 20 each. Moreover, for the sake of the program, they took everything out after the event and calculated how much it would have cost them to buy individually.

The presenter's bag of frozen goods was worth a whopping 15,000+ yen, ten times what she paid for it. The interviewee's bag had more than 11,000 yen worth of frozen goods, also a steal. The interviewee participates with her family every month, so you can imagine how much she has saved over the year.
