Great Hydrangea Garden

Beautiful array of hydrangeas in Itoigawa

Itoigawa's Great Hydrangea Garden is a private garden which is open to the public when the ajisai are in bloom. Surprisingly, admission is free -- I thought that was really generous from the owners as typically private gardens come with a fee. There are around 1200 hydrangea plants to enjoy in over 30 varieties, and this time of year is when they're at their best. I recommend stopping by if you're in the area, it's really beautiful and for the free admission you can't go wrong!
